Producer Marc Guggenheim has revealed that he worked “hand-in-hand” with DC Entertainment to make sure everyone would work out the surprising cameo by Ezra Miller. His appearance in The CW’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” was achieved with Warner Bros. upcoming The Flash movie in mind. It’s been confirmed recently by director Andy Muschietti that the film will indeed be based on the popular ‘Flashpoint’ storyline. Check out the clip if you haven’t seen it yet:
“From the moment we found out that this was a possibility, to once we knew Grant Gustin was cool and on board with it and Ezra was on board with it, I would send drafts of the scene to both Jim Lee and (DC Entertainment’s film Vice President) Adam Schlagman and we would just go back and forth,” Guggenheim told the magazine Entertainment Weekly. “The trick with the scene is that I didn’t want to and they didn’t want me to do anything that stepped on the toes of the Flashpoint movie that they’re developing.”
Lee, DC’s Chief Creative Officer, was “really great” when it came to ensuring “all the parties were talking to each other” and that nothing was put on hold, Guggenheim said. “We really worked hand-in-hand,” Guggenheim said further, “He was a cheerleader when he needed to be, a diplomat when he needed to be … His enthusiasm really helped make this possible.”
Miller’s cameo as The Flash took millions of fans by surprise. Even most Arrowverse actors weren’t aware of it, having been kept secret for months now with no leak. It turns out that it was indeed Warner Bros.’ idea for their DC Movie version of Barry Allen to ahow up with Gustin’s.
“Crisis on Infinite Earths,” the just-concluded five-show crossover between each Arrowverse show, is currently on The CW’s streaming service with all 5 parts available for viewing.
