The CW’s Batwoman First Look: The Arrowverse’s Kate Kane is Revealed as Ruby Rose Suits Up

In what could well be one of the best and most comic-accurate costumes to date for any superhero show, the first photo has been unveiled of actress Ruby Rose suited up as Batwoman, as she will look on the network’s three-part crossover.  That crossover begins with The Flash (Sunday, Dec. 9 at 8/7c), continues with Arrow (Monday, Dec. 10 at 8/7c) and concludes with Supergirl (Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 8/7c).

For this version of the character, Batwoman’s civilian persona is Kate Kane, as has officially been described as, “an out lesbian and trained street fighter primed to snuff out (Gotham’s) criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

A potential Batwoman television series may already be spun off from the crossover for 2019, as it is already in development by The CW.  That series would have Greg Berlanti exec-producing alongside Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns and Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries), who is writing the project.
