Update: 9:25 PM on 12-09: The Arrowverse “Elseworlds” Crossover Event Will Have a Major “Smallville” Reference Featured In It

Arrow star Stephen Amell has recently taken to Facebook again for one of his fan updates.  In the video, the actor confirms that the upcoming three-show Arrowverse crossover “Elseworlds” has some sort of big reference to The CW’s erstwhile DC television series Smallville.

Amell does tell us this season’s crossover would not feature a reunion with any of the Smallville cast, but teased different sorts of Easter eggs to the origin series about The Man of Steel, even one that left him shocked!

I'm back…

Facebook! I'm back! Here to talk about, well, Facebook, San Jose this weekend, our most recent episode, the crossover and whatever else is on my mind.

“It is not a Smallville reunion, although I think it becomes pretty clear in the promos for the crossover that there are Smallville elements, at least, in terms of location. And if you’re a fan of Smallville, and I have no idea if they’re going to keep this in the final cut, but there’s a treat for you in there,” Amell said. “As someone who wasn’t a diehard fan of Smallville, this moment in the crossover made me jump out of my seat. If you’re a fan of Smallville, you may want to put down rubber sheets or something like that, because, quite frankly, you might piss your pants.”

As you may have seen, Amell was spotted on Twitter with Smallville stars Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum just last week, but he later clarified that he was meeting with the actors about his wine label “Nocking Point” and not any sort of Smallville revival project.

This season’s Arrowverse three-night crossover event will feature the casts of The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl. The story will unfold starting with a special episode of The Flash on Sunday December 9 at 8 pm ET/PT. Then will continue Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and concludes on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.

Update: 12-9-2018 @ 9:00 pm: It turns out the major reference from Smallville, was just the theme song playing when we enter the Kent Farm.
