Marvel Studios’ ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Has Started Filming Today

Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes are coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way. Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ TV series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has officially begun filming.

The highly anticipated 6-episode series’ Writer-Producer Malcolm Spellman took to Instagram, sharing two behind-the-scenes photos, confirming the start of production. “Day 1,” Spellman says in the Instagram post’s caption. “Craaazy to see it come to life. Marvel ain’t allowing photos from set right now but this a huge day for a lot of people including me.”

The series is set to feature Sam Wilson carrying the shield of the original Captain America as he attempts to live up to the legacy left behind bySteve Rogers. The Disney+ series will also feature the return of Captain America: Civil War‘s Emily VanCamp as Agent 13 and Daniel Brühl as dangerous bad guy Baron Zemo.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell and Daniel Brühl and is directed by Kari Skogland. It is set to hit the direct-to-consumer service sometime next Fall.
