Deadline revealed on Tuesday that some really big changes are being made by The Walt Disney Company over at Marvel Entertainment. While Feieg currently serves as the President of Marvel Studios (and will continue to hold that position), he now holds another title: Chief Creative Officer of all things Marvel, altogether. This means that Feige will be in charge of all key creative executives and that these execs of film, television and publishing will be reporting to him directly.
So what this all means is that Feige will now have full creative control, not only over Marvel Studios, but also Marvel Marvel’s Television and Animation studios. He will also be in charge of Publishing, which means he has over all say in what we see in Marvel comic books, though doesn’t mean he will be contributing creatively to them.
The Producer will still be reporting to Walt Disney Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Alan Horn and Co-Chairman Alan Bergman, as the current edition of Marvel Television is now being winding down with the third season of Runaways this Decemeber on Hulu and Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. next Summer on ABC. This all presumably means Jeph Loeb – who has produced some major hits and major disasters for the TV Division – will no longer be involved going forward as Marvel’s focus moves to Disney+ instead.
So suffice to say, some big changes are coming our way for Marvel moving forward.
