We recently got our first look at Clark Kent and Lois Lane’s baby, who will first be introduced in the ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover event this December. Well, GWW has a new scoop and according to them, that baby is going to be aged up for the planned Superman & Lois TV series on The CW. There has been no indication on how exactly that will occur, but that would signify that we’ll be meeting young Jonathan Kent/Superboy in the show.
GWW obtained a casting breakdown for the show and to cast the role, they’re using the codename “Matthew” to cast the role. The breakdown describes the role as a “14-year old Caucasian boy, who is well on his way to becoming a physical specimen. Matthew is a clean cut, modest and kind-hearted, with an aw-shucks attitude that somehow doesn’t seem dated.” Curiously, he’s also described as a “three-sport athlete.”
The website also thinks that Damian Wayne/Robin is also set to make an appearance, and for that part, they’re looking for another 14-year old Caucasian who is described as a “has a young Leonardo DiCaprio quality and an inherent darkness to him. Ethan is wildly intelligent, but his mercurial temperament and social anxiety limits his interactions with people. [He] spends most of his free time playing video games.”
We should point out that networks and studios occasionally attempt to hide the names of popular IP characters with false details, so there’s really no telling if Jon will definitley be an athlete or that Damian loves games.
It’s interesting to learn that Superman & Lois could end up including The Super Sons, which would be something that would lend this series a very unique feel compared to previous TV series’ revolving around the Man of Steel and the intrepid Daily Planet reporter.
