After months of speculation, Black Mirror is finally returning to Netflix. The streaming giant has made the official announcement that a batch of three new episodes will hit the service on June 5th.
The new season features high-profile names that include Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Pom Klementieff, Damson Idris, Nicole Beharie, Topher Grace, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport, Ludi Lin and Andrew Scott.
For those unaware of the premise, Black Mirror is a Twilght Zone-like anthology series that delves into people’s unease with today’s world. Each episode is a stand-alone tale that feature a clever, suspenseful storyline that explores themes of modern day technology paranoia, leading to a sometimes unsettling, but always memorable conclusion. The series deals with the way in which technology has changed and taken over all aspects of modern day life: smart phones, monitors, plasma screens, etc., always in our presence and thereby representing a Black Mirror that reflects life back at us in the 21st Century.
